Dogs of War

"Let slip the dogs of war", a famous phrase uttered by Julius Caesar (according to William Shakespeare) was the single biggest advancement in the Ancient dog civil liberties movement. Until then, almost all dogs were not permitted to slip under any circumstances, even in icy conditions. The dogs depicted here are firmly planted on the ground, as was every other dog in the Classical Greek period, long before Caesar's liberating phrase was spoken.
